Donn’s Depot can basically be summed up in one word: character! As you approach this cool stop on West 5th Street at the old Missouri-Pacific (Mopac) train depot it will not take long to see why. Instead of all those boring other bars that use actual brick and mortar to serve their drinks out of permanent structures, Donn’s Depot uses actual rail cars for its seating areas and the caboose of the train as the ladies room. |

The idea behind Cuatros is simple: create a fun place to hang out while enjoying some good food and drinks. Well, this being Austin, such an idea has a lot of competitors. However, on this occasion, Cuatros has risen to the occasion and has become quite the success in offering an open aired environment where students and young professionals alike can come watch their favourite teams on the large screen TVs. |

So goes the old Gaelic wording of ‘long ago,’ Fadó has surely lived up to its promise of providing the thematic Old World Irish pub experience. With the look of the interior conjuring up memories of old Dublin at a time perhaps of centuries past. Stone walls with edgy wooden columns and seats perched between dusty old bookshelves, it all makes one imagine a place of Guinness drinking blacksmiths and shoemakers all singing to the tune of Danny Boy. |
| Gibson Bar Whether you are in the mood for a night of trivia, a 1980s-themed prom night party, or just a night out where you can enjoy a tasty range of cocktails and homely-style deck seating, the Gibson Bar on South Lamar will provide. While their ambiance is certainly one for the working man or woman in need of a relaxing environment without all the commotion of the downtown cosmopolitan bars, their drink selection has grown to become the talk of the town. |

The Trail of Lights
The
Christmas-themed Trail of Lights has been an Austin tradition largely
since 1965 and has largely run uninterrupted since this time. In recent
years there has been much speculation that this event would be meeting
its end as in 2009 it was scaled back considerably and in 2010 it was canceled entirely. However, starting December 9 and running until the 18th, the Trail of Lights will be back in full swing with free tickets for those under the age of 11 and $5 for everyone else. |
